Doctor Appointment

Another successful appointment. I met with Maternal Fetal Medicine today and they did a quick ultrasound and checked my cervix. 3 great heartbeats and a long and thick cervix. This is my last appointment with MFM and now I will seeing my regular highrisk OB until the end. My OB says he will deliver me at 34 weeks if all is well while the MFM doctors say 35-36 weeks. Hummmmm.....We will see if I make it that far. My blood pressure is a beautiful 112 over 62 and no signs of issues. I am scheduling an ultrasound for week 30 for growth and that is all I have for you today.
Names...3 boys....we are having a hard time settling on names. Today is 27 weeks and 6 days....

Just Another Day

Today was yet another uneventful day. I got all of the kids off to school and did quite a bit of computer work. The days I am able to lay down are the best days. David has the week off of work so he is busy taking care of household duties that I can no longer keep up with along with outdoor seasonal stuff. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow with maternal fetal medicine so I will check in and let you all know what happens.

My Angels

Here are my angels. Mairin is 3 and ready to turn 4 in January. The Boys are Eamon and Liam and they are 6. Having twin boys has been nothing but a joy for me and my husband. They are the best of friends and play very well together. They can be very competitive but also they seem to protect each other in times of conflict. Mairin is going to have even more to adjust to. She adores her big brothers and with 3 more boys on the way I will need to keep her dressed in pink as much as possible. She is strong willed and will probably be a very strong big sister and little sister in the future.

The Prego Picture

Ok here I am. I am not an advocate of self portraits during pregnancy but with triplets, everyone seems to want to know how I look. I am 28 weeks along and have added 25 wonderful pounds of baby. We found out earlier on that we are having 3 boys and are currently trying to figure out some Irish names.

This pregnancy has been relatively uneventful. There have been no problems as of yet. I am on my own self imposed bedrest. I really dont have any energy and what energy I have I put it towards my kids. I am ready for the end but also trying to keep them in for as long as possible.

As of 1 week ago my ultrasound is estimating each baby to weigh 2lbs. They keep encouraging me to rest and eat. Ok well I can handle doing that.

Welcome

Welcome to my story. I have spent the past several months searching the web for other women having triplets. I have found several to follow and found them to be very helpful. I am starting a bit late in the pregnancy but it is better than never.



I am currently starting my 28th week of pregnancy with a due date of January 23, 2009. The doctors have no intention of my going past 36 weeks so we are planning and praying for December babies.



I have been so lucky to not have had any issues up to this point. I am at the doctors every other week and in for ultrasounds every 3 weeks.



How did this happen???? Seems to be the first question everyone wants to know. I took clomid for all of my children and it seems as though this time it worked really well. the doctors found 2 babies at 6 weeks and then found a 3rd baby at 9 weeks. This will definitely be a challenge but my husband and I are up for it.
