Lotsa Mottsa

The cute little town of Harrison, Michigan took all 40+ Mott's in for a week of fun and bonding this past week.  We rented several houses on Budd Lake where we played games, swam, rode bikes, talked and drank some cocktails.  I think that some of the Mott men were a bit apprehensive about spending a week together but I think by the end of the week most, if not everyone was pleased with how it turned out.

Our family got our own little cottage and we took all the kids.  Upon arrival they all scurried throughout the house quickly to claim the bed that they would be sleeping in.  There were enough beds for all of them in the upstairs loft area.  David and I had the main floor with our own bedroom and a bathroom to share.  A wrap around porch and an air conditioning unit rounded out the digs.

We all were so busy during the days that the mornings were lazy and started much later than our regular routine.  The kids loved the water and much of my time was spent catching up with all of my sister and brother in-laws on the what was happening.  The nieces and nephews included my kids in all of their activities and although I couldn't always see them I would get reports as to what house and who they were with.  The triplets had all of the uncles and aunts figured out by the end of the week and they loved the attention.  We took turns cooking large dinners and always had a fire a night followed by some euchre that lasted late into the evenings.  We took a couple trips to the local fair that was in town.

David and I took a day and road tripped to Sleeping Bear Dunes where the entire family climbed and climbed and climbed.  Eamon and Liam were dissappointed when we didn't go the full 1.5 miles to the lake but after explaining to them that they would have to carry the trips back they finally understood.  It is amazing how fast 3 year olds can conquer a dune.  David and I had burning calves and they just kept running.

Go trips .....You made it to the top.
Turning Around and heading back.  This is the walk that we had to make.  It didn't feel like we went this far......
To Be Continued..............
